This is an organization developed by our long time friend Aaron Cooke. We, over at OKAY!! OKAY!!, feel very strongly about this program and are excited to work with ARF to help create awareness. Athlete Recovery Fund began in the wake of the 2007 season. There were some big injuries and nothing in place to provide for such athletes who suffer these injuries. Some event organizers do more than others, but for the most part once the athlete leaves the contest there is no support. The mission statement of ARF is to provide professional athletes in BMX, FMX and Skateboarding with financial support after a severe injury and granting funds for rehabilitation, equipment, long-term disability and educational scholarships.
Lightning Bolts was a BMX-inspired exhibit created around the historic introduction of BMX as an Olympic sport. Nike 6.0 teamed up with ARF and BMX Hall of Famer, Bob Haro, recreating his iconic number plate as a blank canvas. A select group of contemporary artists, each sharing a cultural connection to BMX, were invited to partake.
A few years ago, our buddy Tyson White, founder of ID Prints, was staring at the bare walls of his new office at Rip Curl trying to decide how to cover them. After years in the action sports industry, White became friends with a handful of elite photographers and had gained access to their impressive collections. It dawned on White that the average person on the street doesn’t have access to any of the amazing photos that you see in the magazines. From that point on, he decided that he could do it right, and make photos like these available and affordable to everyone. (High quality prints range from $30-$35)
OKAY!! OKAY!! is handling Press for ID Prints. This is the sort of project we live for. Good design, images that our friends have been capturing for years that are all very, very affordable. To learn more about this concept, the company, the shooters and the subjects please feel free to reach out to us at info@okay-okay.com.
These dudes are basically taking Hip Hop, Reggae, R&B and even Rock production to a whole other place. Not only are they killing it in the music game, but they're also starting to take over film, television and web music production. If your project needs music, please contact us for licensing quotes. Our friend Sophie Henson is an amazing illustrator out of the U.K. We're totally in love with her work over here. She was kind enough to make a special print for our studio!
Our friends over at Vice have an online component called vbs.tv, which hosts many programs that are action sport specific. As you might imagine, it is awesome and crazy. Powder and Rails is a show about the history of snowboarding. The new season is set to launch in the next month or so but for now check them out here. OKAY!! OKAY!! will be helping facilitate press opportunities and some on-line marketing efforts. Reach out to us at info@okay-okay.com.
In the late 80's, a bunch of skaters who were bored in the wintertime inadvertently made snowboarding what it is today. They filmed each other not with any sort of historic legacy in mind, but just because that’s what you do when you’re a bunch of dudes who ride around on a piece of fiberglass in the snow all day. Then people saw these videos and started to realize the potential for tricks and big air on a snowboard, and everything else took off from there.
UP: The Photographs of Tobin Yelland featuring Anti Hero Skateboards
Documentary imagery, be it still or video, oftentimes has a voyeuristic, un-opinionated nature that distances the subject from its audience. Since he began photographing his friends as a teenager, Tobin Yelland has done just the opposite, injecting honesty, authenticity, and intimacy into images that have helped shape outsider culture for twenty years. Yelland's new retrospective, UP, was a collection of his favorite photographs—from beautiful landscapes to skating, bikes, and surfing to friends hanging out doing what young people do. Among the assembled works, the show featured a particular emphasis on Yelland’s collaborations with Anti Hero Skateboards, showcasing decks, imagery, and the legendary video offerings that resulted from his time with the company. UP was the most comprehensive review of Yellands’s work to date. As part of an ongoing series with the JDK Gallery, OKAY!! OKAY!! lent marketing support to the show.

“When approaching a crisis situation in your company, it is very important to keep the senior management in the loop at all times as you are making your decisions. It’s also important to inform them of any changes/developments as they happen. In addition, never approach the heads of your company with the problem without having at least 3 different solutions for your company to choose from to resolve the problem." -Shana Frahm of Burton on Crisis Communication
The VT Mozart Festival has been bringing the worlds best music to the green mountain state since 1974. OKAY!! OKAY!! was asked to lend a hand a bit at this years concert series. We invited a few of our friends and had a great time. Classical music isn't the sort of category we usually get down with but this is different. These guys are really cool and the music is literally timeless. The economy and bad weather has put the organization in danger of shutting down. If you have any connection to this sort of thing, if your dad brought you to the symphony as a kid, or if you ever took classical piano lessons: this is your time to help out. Help a VT institution stick around long enough to teach future generations and to give back.
