As the first BIPOC-community organization dedicated to health equity in Vermont, the Vermont Health Equity Initiave was created with an initial focus to organize and promote BIPOC COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics with backing from the Vermont Department of Health and City of Burlington. These efforts contributed to Vermont’s achievement as the first state in the United States to reach 80% vaccination rate for the eligible population, lifting pandemic restrictions two weeks prior to the targeted date.

The mission to develop a brand identity for the organization included logo creation, social media strategy, website launch and overall look and feel for the inititave. We took a brand approach to building awareness by developing and executing a marketing strategy that included art-based, engaging graphics and informative, educational communication tools paired with grassroots efforts and advertising to encourage vaccination for the BIPOC community and their households.

Rapidly responding to stay current with CDC guidelines and regulations, our messaging and communication efforts were nimble and direct, spanning a variety of areas for support. Our work ranged from social media management and public relations to advertising and virtual community events.
